Those are Henry, Lydia and William.<\/p>\n<p>I was able to find a better Nicholson Chart on my laptop which I emailed to my home computer:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_46_36-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29385\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_46_36-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"761\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_46_36-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png 761w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_46_36-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel-300x206.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to William Nicholson, this Tree has the Matthew children Henry, John, Sarah and Lydia. This probably explains why I was researching the John Clayton Nicholson Line in the past.<\/p>\n<h2>Working on AE&#8217;s Genealogy<\/h2>\n<p>Here is the paternal part of AE&#8217;s tree:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_53_21-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29386\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_53_21-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"646\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_53_21-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png 646w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-21_53_21-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel-300x95.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 646px) 100vw, 646px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of AE&#8217;s great-grandfathers is listed as Edward Penelope Fenn. I&#8217;m not sure the Penelope part is right as I have Percy as a middle name. At this point, I have a two generation gap between AE and Edward Fenn. I would recommend finding out more about Edward Fenn. This seems to be about all I can find easily.<\/p>\n<h2>Updating the Nicholson DNA Tree<\/h2>\n<p>This is how I see it:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-22_17_49-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29389\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-22_17_49-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"198\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-22_17_49-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel.png 198w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-06-14-22_17_49-Copy-of-Moms-Ancestry-Testing-Chart-Nicholson.xlsx-Excel-114x300.png 114w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When I check AE and Lori&#8217;s shared matches, I don&#8217;t see MR but I do see someone who has no tree with the surname of Colton. That shows up a typo on my Nicholson DNA Tree. George Cotton should be George Colton.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary and Conclusions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>AE&#8217;s two missing generation of ancestors between him and Edward Fenn made the analysis a little difficult<\/li>\n<li>However, I did not have to go back many generations. I already had the genealogy up to Edward Fenn but with not many details.<\/li>\n<li>The more branching I have, the more likely the Nicholson DNA Tree is right.<\/li>\n<li>The tree is also supported by shared matches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My sister has an interesting possible Nicholson common ancestor with a match at Ancestry.
