They all descend from Joseph Pouliot. Why would Philip be more related to Patricia&#8217;s daughter than to Patricia?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_07_07-Window.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26422\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_07_07-Window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"946\" height=\"321\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_07_07-Window.png 946w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_07_07-Window-300x102.png 300w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_07_07-Window-768x261.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Does this suggest that Philip is related to the younger Patricia&#8217;s mother and father?<\/p>\n<p>Here is a photo of the Pouliot family that I found at Ancestry (submitted by Fred):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_23_59-Window.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26423\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_23_59-Window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1065\" height=\"744\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_23_59-Window.png 1065w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_23_59-Window-300x210.png 300w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_23_59-Window-1024x715.png 1024w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_23_59-Window-768x537.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is some more information I have on Joseph Pouliot:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_25_34-Window.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26424\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_25_34-Window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"654\" height=\"928\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_25_34-Window.png 654w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-01-19-22_25_34-Window-211x300.png 211w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 654px) 100vw, 654px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He had 10 children and he died in Newton, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary and Conclusions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Given the age difference between Richard and Philip, the most likely relationship between Philip and Richard would appear to be second cousin&#8217;s grandson.<\/li>\n<li>That would mean that Philip&#8217;s third great-grandfather should be Joseph Pouliot born in St. Laurent Quebec.<\/li>\n<li>Philip is related to a Patricia and Patricia&#8217;s daughter. However, he has a much larger match to the younger Patricia. This suggests that he is related to the elder Patricia&#8217;s husband also.<\/li>\n<li>As Joseph Pouliot had 10 children, it may be difficult to narrow down which child Philip descended from. If Philip were to test his DNA at Ancestry, he may find closer matches and find out more informaiton as Ancestry has a larger database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently had a request from Philip to look into a match he had with my late father-in-law Richard Butler.
