I was notified by Ancestry recently that my wife’s Aunt Elaine had a new DNA match named Jolene.<\/p>\n

Ancestry thinks that these two could be in the 2nd to third cousin range.<\/p>\n

Here is Jolene’s tree:<\/p>\n

As Jolene and Elaine have shared DNA matches on the Ellis side, it would seem like the connection should be on Jolene’s Ellis side. I can try to build out this tree:<\/p>\n

I see that Arthur’s father was antoher Arthur. Arthur’s marriage record gives his parents:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

They were on the next page:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

That gets Jolene’s tree this far:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now George is starting to match my Ancestry Tree for my wife’s family:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

However, I had that George’s wife was Marion MacArthur. I think that Matthews is more correct at this time. So, I have corrected my tree, but not added the families down.<\/p>\n

An Ellis DNA\/Genealogy Tree<\/h2>\n

This is the tree that I have so far:<\/p>\n

George was probably the younger brother of James Henry Ellis:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

When I add in Jolene, I see that she is a third cousin to Elaine:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It could be that the Georges on my wife’s line could have been named for this George Ellis. George’s Death Certificate listed him as a bridge builder:<\/p>\n
