The question was whether this Marshall was related to Chief Justice John Marshall. The anwer to that question was no. I assume that the question is the same for this other relative.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what Gary says:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>My other great grandmother Venie Marsh, was also a Marshall.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>OK. I have that Gary&#8217;s maternal grandfather was Sammie B Marsh. Here is Samuel in 1920:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Image-4-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15530\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Image-4-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Image-4-2.png 672w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Image-4-2-300x102.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Samuel was a machinist working for the government in 1920. Samuel&#8217;s father Jessie was a sailor. Vennie was born in Virginia according to the Census as Gary told me. Samuel was also born in Virginia.<\/p>\n<h2>Vennie Marsh<\/h2>\n<p>I think that Vennie is a nickname for Virginia. That means that Sylvia&#8217;s parents could have been related to each other. We&#8217;ll see. I think that Hetty may be more normal. Also Gillet shows at Gilbert.
