Gladys likely descends from three Frazer brothers: Philip, Richard and Archibald.<\/p>\n<h2>Jane&#8217;s Genealogy<\/h2>\n<p>Jane probably descends from two of brothers &#8211; Richard and Archibald. I put Jane in the Richard Line several years ago based on her many DNA matches and she seems to fit there. ThruLines is supposed to\u00a0match trees to DNA matches. This gives additional assurance that the genealogy was done correctly.<\/p>\n<p>As I look at Jane&#8217;s Frazer ThruLines, I see a problem:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2019-04-09-06_49_43-ThruLines-for-Alexander-Fraser.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10712\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2019-04-09-06_49_43-ThruLines-for-Alexander-Fraser.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"584\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2019-04-09-06_49_43-ThruLines-for-Alexander-Fraser.png 241w, http:\/\/www.jmhartley.com\/HBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2019-04-09-06_49_43-ThruLines-for-Alexander-Fraser-124x300.png 124w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first problem is that there are no DNA matches at Jane&#8217;s 2nd great-grandfather level. The second is that the ThruLines switch from Jane&#8217;s tree at her grandfather to K8777&#8217;s tree at her Great-grandfather level. At that level Jane appears to have the wrong great-grandfather. Oh my.<\/p>\n<h3>What Went Wrong with Jane&#8217;s ThruLines?<\/h3>\n<p>I have a similar problem with my Frazer grandmother&#8217;s mother. My guess is that Ancestry likes trees with a lot of records. This is pretty bad. I don&#8217;t understand how Ancestry could have done such a poor job. Jane has a ton of Frazer DNA matches and good genealogy to go with it.
